Kirchhoff's Current Law (KCL) and Kirchhoff's Voltage Law (KVL)

FondamentalKirchhoff's Current Law (KCL) and Kirchhoff's Voltage Law (KVL)

These laws are written in the form (see figure) :

  • Kirchhoff's current law :

    \({i_1} + {i_3} + {i_4} = {i_2} + {i_5}\)

  • Kirchhoff's voltage law :

    \({u_1} - {u_2} + {u_3} - {u_4} + {u_5} = 0\)

ComplémentPouillet's law

The KVL gives :

\({u_{BA}} = E - ri = Ri\)

We deduce the intensity in the circuit (this is the Pouillet's law) :

\(i = \frac{E}{{r + R}}\)
